CCleaner for Windows 10 features
In addition to PC cleaning, CCleaner can also be used to optimize the operating system by removing unwanted programs from the startup list. This little program also helps you uninstall applications that can’t be easily removed from Windows via Control Panel.
One of the very useful but ignored feature of CCleaner is its ability to delete individual system restore points. If you use System Restore feature of Windows, you probably aware of the fact that Windows doesn’t let you delete individual restore points. That is, you need to turn off System Restore feature in order to delete all restore points. If you have multiple restore points and want to delete a restore point without deleting other restore points, CCleaner is the ideal tool for the job.
CCleaner is packed with a good Registry Cleaner as well, which means you don’t need to look for another expensive software to clean and defrag Windows Registry. All in all, a fantastic utility for the Windows operating system. Now that the latest version of CCleaner is compatible with Windows 10, CCleaner now officially supports Windows versions from Windows 2000 to Windows 10.

New Windows feature updates may experience compatibility issues with various software solutions installed on systems being upgraded, and this is what appears to happen in the case of Windows 10 October 2018 Update.
Users are now reporting that CCleaner, the famous system optimization tool for Windows, no longer works correctly after computers install the new OS version.
A post on the official forums of developing company Piriform reveals that certain cleaning features stopped working on Windows 10 1809.
CCleaner can’t clean recent files and documents in File Explorer, Windows Event logs, and registry issues, with one report indicating that the app also force closes Microsoft Edge even if the browser was previously closed.
These issues are experienced in the latest version of CCleaner on a fully up-to-date system running Windows 10 October 2018 Update.
A fix is already on the way
Piriform says it’s aware of the issues and is already working on a fix, but specifics as to when it could be released aren’t yet available.
“Thank you for reporting. We are aiming to fix this for the next release. Keep your eyes on the Beta Releases forum as we may publish it there first to get the fix out more quickly,” the company said in a forum post.
As you can figure out, this isn’t such a major issue, though a fix would obviously come in handy to CCleaner users who rely on this app for cleaning their systems.

On the other hand, it’s worth noting that this isn’t an issue on Microsoft’s side, but actually a bug caused by compatibility issues due to code changes. Microsoft itself has a lot to fix in the October 2018 Update, and the next few weeks are expected to bring us several cumulative updates with the sole purpose of improving performance for upgraded systems.
